Colin Trusedell, the music director of the United States Air Force Academy Band’s Top 40 group Blue Steel, and adjunct faculty bass professor at Colorado State University-Pueblo. He is a versatile upright and electric bass player in jazz, fusion and rock music. He is also a bandleader, arranger, writer and musician. Colin’s 2013 album, “Some of My Best Friends Are…Divas”, featured him playing the upright bass along with three of Colorado’s best jazz singers. It was awarded the AllAboutJazz.com rating of “Best of 2013”. Colin’s full-length 2014 CD, “Quartet of Jazz Death”, features him playing the electric bass and his original funk/fusion compositions. The “Quartet of Jazz Death”, his project, has been widely praised and featured on NoTreble.com and TalkBass.com. His solo EP, “All By Myself”, was released in 2015. It features his solo electric and upright-bass approach to some of jazz’s most famous standards. Colin’s third album, “It’s All About The Hustle”, will be released on October 20th 2015. It features him as a band leader and 10 new straight-ahead jazz compositions. Colin has extensive experience touring with both the U.S. Navy Band Northeast and U.S. Air Force Academy Band. He has performed anywhere from Florida to Greenland and appeared on NBC’s Today Show and Fox and Friends as well as appearances with ESPN’s SportsNation and the Montel Williams Show. Colin also owns MyShowsLive Records, a national booking agency. Colin Trusedell Jazz Jam, which airs Sunday nights at 8 PM MDT, was Colin’s most recent production.
