Curtis Nowosad

Curtis Nowosad is a New York-based drummer and composer. He has earned a reputation for being a versatile, forward-thinking, highly-skilled musician. Curtis, a Winnipeg native, is now well-known as one of Canada’s most prominent jazz players. He has performed with world-class musicians such as Stefon Harris and Stefon Harp, Jack Wilkins and George Colligan, as well as Steve Wilson and Dave Douglas. Candido Camero, Jimmy Owens and Curtis have performed together. He also recorded with Kenny Barron, a third NEA Jazz Master. Dialectics, his sophomore album, will be released by Vancouver-based Cellar Live Records in March 2015. It features Jimmy Greene, Derrick Gardner, Steve Kirby, Will Bonness, and Steve Kirby on the bass. Peter Hum, Ottawa Citizen, named it one of the “Fourteen jazz CDs you should be looking forward to in early 2015.” The Skeptic, his debut album.
