Dan Barta (14.12. 1969, Karlovy Vary. Dan Barta ( 14.12. Barta’s solo albums, “Illustratosphere”, and “Entropicture”, are released and Barta begins a new journey with the jazz world. Dan Barta, 36, was originally an X-ray technician and began singing in Alice, a Plzen rock band. The band released three albums during the first half 1990’s, and was a big hit in the Czechoslovak post Velvet Revolution Czechoslovak music scene. Barta continued to search and joined the Czech Jesus Christ Superstar, which is now the most popular musical on Czech stage. Barta has performed and sang both the roles of Judas and Jesus in many performances. Evita’s role as Che was another musical success. Dan Barta also sang in the soul-funky project Sexy Dancers (Czech Grammy Award, 1998 for best newcomer), and in a funky group called J. A. R. has been a popular Czech Republic live act. J.R. has been around for twelve years. A. R. created the wild, “funky party music”, sound that has won thousands of fans, and five albums. But, the band’s distinctive voice and charisma, which was a result of the contributions and charisma of their singer, elevated them to the top of Czech pop. Dan Barta won 7 Czech Grammy Awards in 2001, 2002 and 2003 for THE BEST MALE VOCIALIST.
