Of French-Austro-Hungarian-Israeli family background and based in Berlin, the world renowned Australian-born violinist and composer/producer Daniel Weltlinger has been widely acclaimed by critics and audiences alike for his distinctive sound and improvisational approach in the genres of Gypsy-swing, jazz, klezmer, experimental/free-improvised music and more. He is frequently in demand as a solo recording/performance artist, often in collaboration with an array of top musicians and ensembles in a variety of different formats, and is highly sought after for his technical and musical mastery on his main instrument. He is a graduate of Sydney Conservatorium of Music and has recorded and performed in numerous concert halls and clubs across Australia, Europe and the US with a variety of well-known artists, including Lulo Reinhardt, a German-Gypsy composer and guitarist, and Karsten Troyke, a Berlin-based Yiddish singer/actor.
