Born March 14, 1945 in Sidney (New York). Danny D’Imperio, a fine drummer, is well-known for his leadership, recordings with the Metropolitan Bopera House, and his own bands. Early experience was gained playing in the Glenn Miller ghostband (1970-1972), and for two years with the Woody Herman and Maynard Ferguson orchestras. When Buddy Rich died in 1983, he was the Condon’s house drummer. He has also freelanced a lot, but his V.S.O.P. is what he is most proud of. D’Imperio is best known for his recordings, which often feature hard and obscure bop songs being rediscovered with enthusiasm. Itunes.apple.com
