Darol Anger, fiddler, composer and producer, is comfortable in many musical genres. Some of these he helped invent. Anger is a rare modern fiddler for his depth and versatility. He has been instrumental in the development of the string band by his involvement with many groundbreaking ensembles like the Turtle Island String Quartet and the David Grisman Quartet. He has taught and performed all over the globe with such musicians as Bill Evans, Bela Fleck and Bill Evans, Bill Frisell and David Grisman. Today, Darol, Earl Scruggs and Tony Rice can all be heard on NPR’s “Car Talk” theme each week. Darol was also the violinist for the immensely popular Sim City computer game. He has performed all over the globe, is a MacDowell Fellow and UCross Fellow and has been awarded numerous composers’ residencies as well as grants. He has performed as a soloist on numerous recordings and soundtracks for motion pictures. He is an Associate Professor in the Berklee School for Music.
