Dave Specter

Dave Specter is a blues guitarist, bandleader, and producer who has gained an international reputation for being one of the most prominent talents in the Chicago blues scene. Specter has been performing regularly in top Chicago blues and jazz clubs, as well as festivals and concert halls across the USA since 1985. Dave has performed internationally since 1989, including in Argentina, Brazil and Israel as well as Spain, England, Holland. Denmark, France. Italy. Germany. Norway. Belgium. Sweden. Switzerland. Poland. Luxembourg. Mexico. Before forming his own band, Specter toured extensively in the U.S.A and Europe with blues legends like Son Seals, The Legendary Blues Band and Hubert Sumlin. Specter has recorded and performed with many blues and jazz musicians, including Otis Rush and Buddy Guy, Otis Rush and Jimmy Rogers, Robert Jr. Lockwood and Johnny Adams. Blues Access magazine described Left Turn on Blue as “an absolutely stunning blend of vintage blues, jazz.” Specter is also featured on compilation CDs featuring artists like Eric Clapton and Carlos Santana. King, Muddy waters and Junior Wells. Dave’s new album, Message in Blue, features special guests Otis Clay and Brother John Kattke as well as Bob Corritore. It is currently at the top of Roots Music Report’s blues charts. The album has received rave reviews from All Music Guide and Downbeat Magazine.
