David Rose

David Rose, during the 70s, was the violinist of Transit Express, France’s most respected and durable jazz-rock group. It was known for using synthesizers in a fusion context, similar to the Mahavishnu Orchestra. The group reached its peak with the 1977 release Couleurs Naturelles. This brilliant exposition of European jazz-fusion fused to a classic sensibility is a shining example of its potential. Transit Express shared as many similarities with King Crimson or Genesis as any other jazz-rock group. Rose released several solo albums in the late 1970s, the most famous being The Distance Between Dreams. This live recording dates roughly from the same period. from http://aural-innovations.com
