David T. Walker, a top session guitarist since 1970s, has never been a flashy stylist or soloist. His rhythm guitar and timekeeping skills were heard by many artists. This list includes Marvin Gaye and Aretha Franklin, Barry White and Bobbi Humphrey. Walker’s recordings under his own name were not very successful. His 1976 album On Love, produced by Wilton Felder and Crusader Joe Sample, was not memorable. Walker continued to record throughout the years, as well as into the 21st Century, with albums in Japan including Thoughts (2008) and Wear My Love 2009, among others. Allmusic
