Pure music, which is instrumental, without any text or subject beforehand, seems less like a glimpse at the world than it is a work in progress. That this emanates from such an atypical line-up as a saxophone/piano/drum-kit trio has nothing anodyne about it. Deep Ford examines the two most-used references to this format. One is Alexander von Schlippenbach, Evan Parker, and Paul Lovens. The other is Cecil Taylor, Jimmy Lyons, and Andrew Cyrille. Not in an aesthetic sense (especially since Deep Ford uses electronic sounds made by Benoit Delbecq), but in a matching, though dissimilar, bodily and intellectual commitment. from https://bmcrecords.hu
