Dessy DiLauro, a Los Angeles-based singer, delivers an original flavor of original music. HER STORY – OVERCOMING ADVERSITY Dessy Di Lauro’s (pronounced D’Laro), life story is about how she overcame adversity. Her inter-racial heritage of Cuban, Brazilian and Italian descent led to bullying as a child in Montreal’s east-end neighbourhood. She was also subject to domestic abuse in adulthood. Today, Miss Di Lauro has married Rickey Pageot, her writing partner (touring keyboardist for Madonna and cowriter for Jill Scott u0026 Earth Wind).
