Directions In Groove (aka. Directions In Groove (aka. You can call it acid jazz, jazz-funk, or great grooving music. D.i.g brought a level to musical excitement that has rarely been duplicated. Directions In Groove, an Australian acid jazz band that originated in Redfern in Sydney in the 1990’s, produced several distinct acid-jazz/groove / funk albums. DIG has released many albums on the EMI Music Australia, Polygram labels. “Speakeasy” was double platinum and “Deeper” was also gold. DIG has also been on tour with Bootsy Collins and Herbie Hancock. Original DIG lineup included Tim Rollinson on guitar, Scott Saunders vocals and keyboards, Rick Robertson on Sax and Terepai Richmond on Drums. Alex Hewetson was on bass. The Favourite, “Reinvent Youself”, and “Hip Replacement” are the most well-known songs by DIG. DIG are also well-known for their live performances at The Basement in Sydney.
