Dominique Bertram

Dominique Bertram, who was influenced by Otis Redding’s and Rythm’n’Blues, took up bass playing in Paris in 1968. He is a huge jazz-rock fan and played with Zao and NEFSH before joining Magma (Concertat at Bobino 1981). He played with Renaud and Michel Jonasz in the 80s. Veronique Sanson, Catherine Lara, Nicole Croisille and Catherine Lara were his tribute shows to Claude Nougaro. He played with Eddy Mitchell in the 90s and was a part of Patrick Bruel’s two major tours. He was also a member of I Muvrini and Laurent Voulzy’s “Gothique Flamboyant Dance Tour”, and Liane Folly (Concert au Palais des Sports et Une etoile dort). He was the bass player on the Enfoires’ first tour and he also appeared on many Taratata shows with Al Jarreau, Michel Petrucciani and others. He is a prolific jazz musician and can often be seen with Mino Cinelu (with Khalil Chahine), Thierry Eliez, and Frank Monbaylet. He has two solo albums: “Chinese Paradise”, in 1985 (with Manu Katche and Jean-Yves D’Angelo), Kamil Rustam …), and “Bass Now,” in 1992 (with Loic Ponthieux, Michel Gaucher and Thierry Elliez …).).
