Don Aliquo, a saxophonist from Pittsburgh, was raised listening to jazz music and learning from them. Don followed in the footsteps his father, a respected jazz musician, as he performed with many of the region’s greatest musicians, including Joe Harris and Danny Conn Johnny Costa. He continued his musical development at Berklee College of Music where he was a member of the International Dues Band, which is directed by Phil Wilson. His artistic development at Berklee was aided by Joe Viola, Ed Tomasi, John La Porta, and Joe Viola. Don’s first professional career was as a lead alto with Buddy Morrow’s Tommy Dorsey band and as a baritone with Buddy Rich. He also traveled extensively with the East Coast Road R.
