Doug White, composer, singer, and tenor saxophonist, is a well-known figure in Europe and the East Coast. He founded Juniper Records, an independent jazz record label. Since the 1970’s, White has been a star at the helms of his own quartets and trios. Doug White’s program includes bop, ballads and catchy originals. He also performs great standards, blues and modern-style improvising. He has also performed at many European festivals, including Ireland’s Guinness Jazz Festival. His story was featured on RTE television and on BBC World Service. He has also performed with Milt Hinton, Tommy Flanagan, Joe Puma and was mentored by Miles Davis and Warne Marsh early in his career.
