Dread Flimstone

Rex Morgan, a.k.a. Dread Flimstone was raised and born in Venice, California. In the early 1980’s, he was a rhythm pianist in L.A.’s reggae bands. He also played support and opening acts on college tours and festivals. He signed with Warner Brothers Records in 1989 and was featured on Funky Reggae Crew, which included Queen Latifah and Daddy-O (from Stetsosonic). After signing a development contract with Island Records, he moved to the U.K. and signed with Acid Jazz. He released his first full-length album Dread Flimstone as well as the Modern Tone Age Family “From The Ghetto”. The first single reached #4 on the Billboard Dance Charts in 12 weeks, and then reached #1 for 4 weeks on the U.K. charts. It also reached #58 on Polydor U.K.’s Top 100 Best Selling Singles. Dread produced and published 3 compilation albums called Inna Rub A-Dub style 1 and 2.
