Edward Isaac Bickert CM, (November 29, 1932 – February 28, 2019, was a Canadian jazz guitarist. Bickert is a native of Hochfeld in Manitoba and grew up near Vernon, British Columbia. He began playing the guitar at age eight. His parents were musicians and he performed at country dances together with them. His mother played the piano and his father played the fiddle. When American musicians toured through Toronto, he worked with them, including Ruby Braff and Paul Desmond. He recorded with Buddy Tate, Oscar Peterson and Milt Jackson after he had played in Japan. He toured with McConnell and Koffman in the 1980s. Bickert signed to Concord and recorded with Rosemary Clooney and Benny Carter. Lofsky was part of his quartet during the 1980s and 1990s.
