Emy Tseng, a DC-based singer, has made her debut album Sonho (Dream). Emy started playing classical piano when she was four years old and began singing in high school. While pursuing her Math/Physics degree, Emy continued singing in chorus at Brown University. While at MIT she studied classical voice at Longy School of Music, and sang in early music ensembles in New York and Boston. She “discovered” jazz in New York and began her jazz studies with Jay Clayton, a well-known singer. She first heard Paula Morelenbaum and Luciana Souza in New York. After falling in love with Brazilian music, she decided to continue her studies. Sandy Cressman, a singer, was her next teacher. She also studied with Marcos Silva (Flora Purim), a pianist from Brazil.
