Enrique Haneine

Enrique Haneine was born in Mexico City and holds four degrees including his Masters degree in Jazz Piano Performance at The Boston Conservatory. He is also known for his versatility and leadership roles in the New York jazz scene. Haneine is well-known for his previous roles as music director and pianist, as well as arranger for Ricky Martin and Vina del Mar’s music festival. His repertoire is now a mix of Latin, standard, and free jazz. Haneine started private lessons with many outstanding musicians after moving to Boston in 1996. Haneine’s unique style combines innovative technique with uninhibited yet intelligent improvisation. Enrique was immediately recognized for his presence and talent. He won the Jane Jarvis Jazz Piano Competition, was named Eubie Blake Scholar at Berklee, and was selected as a candidate at the Martial Solal International Jazz Piano Competition, Paris, France. All About Jazz New York’s Best of 2005 Albums of the year – Enrique performed for the Grammy nominated Best Latin Jazz Album, “Multiverse”, at The United Nations General Assembly Hall, where he was also selected candidate at the Martial Solal International Jazz Piano Competition in Paris, France. He has also performed at numerous Jazz Festivals around the globe, including Lincoln Center, Apollo Theatre and The Kennedy Center. Enrique made his first move to New York City in 2000. He has since been a soloist and band leader as well as a member of many trios/quartets.
