Ernie Wilkins

Ernest Brooks Wilkins Jr. (1922-1999) was an arranger and writer of jazz music who also played the tenor saxophone. His work with Count Basie is perhaps his most well-known. He wrote songs for Tommy Dorsey and Harry James as well as Dizzy Gillespie. He was also the musical director of albums by Dinah Washington, Buddy Rich, Cannonball Adderley and Dinah Washington.
