Fang Chia is a experimental jazz-rock band from Tacoma, WA. The four members of the band are all graduates of the University of Puget Sound. They have been playing together for six years. Their musical backgrounds are rooted in grit, improvisation and were once members of Electric Minge and The Warner House Cat. Fang Chia’s mission has been to blur the boundaries between genres and balance complexity while remaining approachable. Often, Fang Chia goes beyond the typical bass-guitar-drums-keys set up, using synthesizers, vibraphones, saxophone, and live brass – frequently through effects and loop pedals.
