Francesca Prihasti

Francesca Prihasti, originally from Indonesia, is a jazz composer/pianist on the international jazz scene. Prihasti received her BMus degree from Sydney Conservatorium of Music (BMus) in 2012, and her MMus from New York University (MMus) in 2018. Prihasti also studied privately with Judy Bailey, Mike Nock, Drew Gress and Ari Hoenig (USA). Prihasti has performed at numerous jazz venues and festivals in Indonesia, Australia, and the United States, including the Motion Blue Jakarta, Java Jazz Festival and Jazz go to Campus. Prihasti was chosen to be the New York University’s jazz department’s representative in 2017. She performed and taught masterclasses in Costa Rica with East Eleventh Collective. Prihasti also released two albums with original compositions to great acclaim. “Night Trip”, her first album, featured Marco Panascia (double basse) and Ulysses Owens Jr. (“drums”), followed by “Evolving”, in 2015, featuring Rodney Green (drums), and Orlando Le Fleming (“double bass”) as her second album. Prihasti’s third album, “Adriana”, was released in February 2019.
