Franco D’andrea

Franco D’Andrea is a pianist and keyboardist from Italy who has been working with American musicians since the 1960s and cutting free jazz rock dates. His first sessions were with Nunzio Rotondo, Gato Barbieri and other American musicians. Franco Ambrosetti and Giorgio Azzolini recorded next, as well as Enrico Rava and Gianni Basso. D’Andrea founded the Modern Art Trio in 1968, and then, four years later, he played with Perigeo’s jazz-rock band. Dexter Gordon and Slide Hampton were among his jazz heroes. Lucky Thompson recorded with him. From allmusic
