Fred Hughes

Jazz pianist Fred Hughes is a Lancaster native, whose career in jazz was launched by his work with the Eighth Army Band in Seoul, Korea. He toured throughout the U.S. and abroad with the US Army’s premier touring jazz ensemble, the Jazz Ambassadors. He has also performed with the Baltimore and Chicago Symphony Orchestra and served as conductor for the Cincinnati Pops, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and he was the musical director for Three Mo’ Tenors. The Fred Hughes Trio is made up of Fred on piano, Frank Russo playing drums and Keith Mohler playing bass. Their 2012 recording In the Mist features some of Hughes original compositions. from www.witf.org
