Creed Taylor, a producer of CTI Records, founded an all-star band in 1980. Ndugu, Ronnie Foster and Will Lee were part of the original band. Their debut album, “Double Steal”, sold more than 150,000 copies in Japan. In 1981, the second group recorded Silk, which featured Wynton Marsalis and Eric Gale as well as Stanley Turrentine and Wynton Marsalis.
