Gabe Evens

Gabe Evens, a professional pianist and vocalist, is an arranger, composer, arranger, and teacher. He has been in the business of teaching since 1988. His commissions include music for string quartet, vocal ensembles, vocal ensembles, woodwind ensembles, percussion ensembles, percussion duos, mixed chamber ensembles, funk bands, and small jazz ensembles. As a Duke University faculty member, University of Miami, International College of Music Kuala Lumpur, University of Malaya, and University of Miami teacher, he has taught hundreds of students. His classes include ensemble, composition and arranging, theory as well as ear training. Gabe is currently studying for his DMA Jazz Composition at the University of North Texas. He is also a Teaching Fellow and the pianist of the prestigious One O’Clock Lab Band.
