GERARD HAGEN, a pianist, lives in Paris with LESLIE LEWIS, a vocalist. His recordings have received international radio airplay, critical acclaim and distribution in the U.S. and Europe. Gerard has performed many times. He has toured extensively throughout Europe, Asia and Africa, as well as venues in Los Angeles, New York City, Tokyo, New York and San Francisco. Before moving to France, he lived in Los Angeles where he led a trio that included drummer JERRYKALAF and bassist DOMENIC GENEVA for seventeen years. Gerard is an arranger, producer and musical director for Leslie Lewis. Her debut album, “Of Two Minds”, was released by SSL in Japan. It received 5 stars in Swing Journal magazine. “Keeper Of The Flame”, was broadcast on SiriusXM Radio and several nationally syndicated radio programs. From 2004 to 2012, Gerard was Associate Professor of Jazz piano at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo. From 2004 to 2012, Gerard was an Associate Professor of Jazz Piano at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, CA. His teaching duties included private instruction, jazz piano lessons, and the evaluation of jazz combos. He also evaluated applied jazz students. He was also a member of the Saddleback College Summer Jazz Program faculty and performed with the Jazz Faculty Combo. Gerard teaches at the International Music Educators of Paris College of Music. His education includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in piano performance from University of Mary, and a Masters of Music Ed. Northern Michigan University.
