Gilson Peranzzetta

Gilson Peranzzetta is one of the most sought-after contemporary arrangers/pianists of MPB. He has classical training since childhood, but was heavily influenced jazz and Brazilian instrumental music. His songs have been recorded by Djavan and Edu Lobo as well as Sarah Vaughan, Dianne Schurr. He has toured extensively in the U.S., Europe and Japan. His classic compositions include “Miragem”, a suite for piano and orchestra, and “Metamorfose”, a suite for piano and string quartet. Peranzzetta played with Taiguara and was also a member the Samba Jazz group in the 1960s. Peranzzetta toured Europe with Central do Brasil and was Ivan Lins’ arranger for many years. Intimidades, his long-standing affinity with guitarist Sebastiao Tajos, was the most memorable album in duo. Allmusic
