Glenn Cashman

GLENN CASHMAN was inspired by the free-wheeling compositional approach to saxophone playing and improvisation in the playings of Joe Henderson, Wayne Shorter, and John Coltrane. His compositions reflect a variety of influences. He is bi-coastal and serves as Associate Professor in Music at Colgate University, Hamilton, NY. He also spends more than three months per year in Southern California, performing and recording. He also served as the Director of Jazz Studies at Cal State Fullerton, Towson University in Baltimore and Towson University. Glenn was twice named Artist in Residence at St. Petersburg Conservatory in Russia. He has also performed at many jazz festivals in the USA and Sweden. Glenn was appointed the Muckenthaler Jazz festival’s Founding Director in Fullerton in 2006. He presented six concerts as part of an outdoor series with Eric Futterer, his dear friend and producer. The 14-piece “Glenn Cashman” and “Southland Big Band”, his Los Angeles ensemble, debuted there. These groups are composed of top LA jazz musicians
