American jazz cornetist. Born September 16, 1960 in Brooklyn, NY, USA. He is the son of Roy Haynes and studied trumpet in high school. After that, he studied with Dave Burns. His first professional jazz job was with Jaki Byard (1978-83), then he played with Michael Carvin (1981-82) and Steve Coleman (1979-88). In ’91, he moved to Paris and returned to the USA in ’93.
