Greg Caldarone has enjoyed a rise in national recognition since he released his first CD in 1996. Jazz legend Dakota Staton selected Greg Caldarone in 1998 to receive the “The Dakota” award, bestowed by The Universal Jazz Coalition on outstanding jazz musicians. Greg looks forward to making his debut at the University of Illinois’ Bone Student Center in April. This is part of a series of great concerts. Greg is a concert artist who has performed in venues such as The Elmsford Westchester Dinner Theatre and The Continental Airlines Arena. He also travels to Las Vegas, Florida, Provincetown, Mass., as well as other venues. He has shared the stage with showbiz legends like Les Paul, Dakota Staton and Kaye Ballard. His schedule is full due to his appearances for charitable and corporate clients such as Filippo Berio and Lipton, The American Cancer Society and Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The American Red Cross, and other aids organizations. Greg is also very popular on the intimate New York City cabaret scene, where he performs in venues like Tavern on the Green and Danny’s Skylight room. He was also a regular radio host on The Jim Lowe and Friends, which he heard every Saturday. WVNJ radio broadcasts his morning show, which is based in NJ, but he also has stations in New York City and other parts of Connecticut and Pennsylvania. CD recordings of Come Back to Sorrento, which feature great Italian favorites and the mandolin of Lou Pallo and Bucky Pizzarelli, and The Nearness of You, which are fine American standards, and his current release SHOULD’VE NEVER LEFT YOU GO (featuring Greg’s original song “FOR ALL THE THINGS YOU ARE”) are being added to many play lists. He was a cantor at The Church of the Nativity, Midland Park, NJ, for 16 years, and he also served 8 years in the music ministry of St. Lukes Church, Hohokus. His faith-driven nature is what inspired his show, “Listen to my Heart”, which features some of the best and most hopeful songs on stage, screen, and pop. Greg is no longer able to serve at one church because of obvious reasons. Instead, he now gives his talents to other churches sharing God’s gift and music, raising spirits wherever he can. Greg Caldarone was born in Waldwick, New Jersey. It is a small community that is less than an hour from Manhattan but almost a world away.
