Greg Diamond, a Brooklyn-based guitarist and composer, is a highly regarded bandleader and musician. His music is influenced by Latin American rhythms and sounds which he seamlessly incorporates into modern New York-style Jazz. This includes modal harmonies and odd meters as well as other elements that make up the city’s dynamic and vibrant musical tapestry. Diamond is a true artist with his original writing and his use of electric guitar. This instrument is rarely used in contemporary latin jazz. Since the early 20th Century, New York has been known as a cultural melting pot. Diamond’s musical journey is proof of that. Greg and his band have performed at many top New York venues, including The Blue Note, Iridium Jazz Club and Joe’s Pub. He was a semi finalist in The Gibson International Jazz Guitar Competition, hosted by Montreux Jazz Festival, Switzerland. In this competition, he performed alongside jazz guitarist George Benson.
