Greg Yasinitsky

Greg Yasinitsky, a Regents Professor of Music at Washington State University School of Music, teaches composition, jazz studies, and saxophone. Greg was awarded the 2017-18 American Prize in Orchestral Composition, Pops Section, for his Jazz Concerto For Piano and Orchestra. Greg is a member of Washington Music Educators Hall of Fame and a former Board Member of Jazz Education Network. He is also a recipient of WSU Eminent Faculty Award. This award is the highest honor given to faculty at WSU. He is also the author of Improvisation 101: Major, Minor, and Blues, and he contributed a chapter in the Amazon bestseller Rehearsing The Jazz Band. Yasinitsky is a renowned composer, arranger, and saxophonist. Yasinitsky has had his music performed in more than forty countries around the world. He also studied masterclasses and jazz with David Baker, the Dean of Jazz Education.
