Hailey Niswanger

Hailey Niswanger, a composer and saxophonist, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in December 2011. The Berklee College of Music in Boston awarded a full scholarship to Hailey Niswanger, who is a jazz performer. Hailey’s impressive accomplishments extend far beyond Portland, Oregon and her years. Hailey was born in Houston on February 12, 1990. She has performed with DeeDee Bridgewater and Joe Lovano as well as Terri Lyne Carrington, Joe Lovano and George Duke. Hailey is the leader of her own quartet, which has performed at the Northampton Jazz Festival (2013) and Saratoga Jazz Festival (2012), Red Clay Jazz Festival (2011) and Salem Jazz Festival (2011). She also performed at the Elkhart Jazz Festival (2010), Mary Lou Williams Jazz Festival (2010), Tri-C Jazz Festival (2008), Blue Note Jazz Club in New York, Jimmy Mak’s Jazz Club (2009), and other jazz venues throughout the Northeast. Hailey was a part of Esperanza Spalding’s Radio Music Society. They toured the United States, Europe and Asia. Hailey also performed with Ralph Peterson’s sextet and fo’tet at the Pittsburg Jazz Festival in New York City. She is a Wolff member.
