Harley Card

harley Card is a Toronto-based guitarist and composer. Harley has been a leader in his own bands and is also a co-composer of the Canadian bands Hobson’s Choice and God’s Gift to Yoda. Since 2003, Harley has been a part of the Toronto creative music scene. He has performed with numerous artists, including Alex Dean, Alex Samaras and David Virelles, Bernie Senensky. Don Scott, Matt Newton. Felicity Williams. Dave Clark. Sarah Jerrom. RJ Sachnanathan. Rebecca Hennessy. Dan Fortin. Ben Dietschi. Dan Gaucher. Caitlin Smith. Ernesto Cervini. The Harley Card Quintet completed three Canadian tours in support of Harley’s CDs, “Hedgerow” u0026 “The Greatest Invention”. Grants from The Canada Council For The Arts made the most recent tours possible (March 2015 and November 2017) in Central and Western Canada. Since its international release Jan 12, 2018, “The Greatest Invention”, has received rave reviews and extensive radio airplay. Harley is a graduate of Applied Music at Mohawk College and Jazz Performance at the University of Toronto. He was also semi-finalist in the 2008 Montreux Jazz Festival guitar competition. Harley was also the recipient of numerous grants from both the Ontario Arts Council and the Toronto Arts Council to record and compose projects. Harley lived in New York City for the summer 2017 to study privately with Peter Bernstein, a master guitarist. He also took lessons with Rez Abassi, Mike Moreno and Lage Lund during his time in New York. Harley is an educator and maintains a private teaching studio, offering instruction in theory, composition, guitar, and theory. Harley is also an active composer of AV and music supervisor for Jesse Card’s Ottawa-based company, House Edge Media. From www.harleycard.ca
