Heiner Stadler

The international avant-garde jazz movement is a tribute to this German-American composer, arranger, composer and producer. Stadler, who moved from Germany to New York City during the mid-’60s led groups that reflected the influence of Ornette Coleman and the Art Ensemble of Chicago. His recordings from the 1970s, Brains on Fire (1973), Jazz Alchemy (766) and A Tribute to Monk u0026 Bird (1978) are all highly regarded by avantgarde and free-jazz fans.
