Helena was born in Perth, Scotland and moved to London to study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2012. She graduated in 2016 with a First-Class in BMus Jazz (Hons). Also, she was awarded the Anjool malde Jazz Prize for the highest final jazz recital mark of 2016. She was named Young Scottish Jazz Musician Of The Year in 2015. In 2017, she received the Peter Whittingham Jazz award, which is the prize she uses to record and release her debut album. Helena was a Guildhall Artist Fellow, which she held for two years after graduating. She now has a full-time gig as a teacher and performer. She has performed at the Ronnie Scott’s, Ronnie Scott’s, London Jazz Festival and Aberdeen Jazz Festival. Helena has performed with many musicians, including Barry Green, Nick Costley White, Calum Goullay, Tommy Smith and Ryan Quigley. Helena is flutist and plays clarinet, clarinet, and saxophone.
