HOWARD WILEY is a young man with a strong musical background. Howard Wiley was a natural pianist from the age of three. He took up the saxophone at 11 years old and hasn’t stopped since. Wiley’s grandfather Sam Wiley played saxophone with Count Basie’s Orchestra and provided constant advice to the young musician from Hercules. Wiley’s first recording, The Businessman (Sax Records 1995), was recorded shortly after his fifteenth Birthday. It was produced by Steve Savage, founder of The Stanford Jazz Workshop and Jim Nadel. He has been a performer at many jazz festivals including the San Francisco Jazz Festival and the North Beach Jazz Festival.
