Ivo Perelman

Born January 12, 1961, Ivo Perelman is a Brazilian free-jazz saxophonist. He was born in Sao Paulo. Perelman was a young musician who learned guitar, cello and clarinet. He then specialized in tenor sax at age 19. After completing one semester at Berklee College of Music, Perelman dropped out and moved to Los Angeles in 1986. Perelman’s 1989 debut album featured Peter Erskine and John Patitucci as well as Airto Moreira, Eliane Elias and Flora Purim. He moved to New York City after the release of his first album. Perelman released many albums for various labels since then. He has performed with Dominic Duval and Rashied Ali as well as Jay Rosen and Marilyn Crispell. Wikipedia
