Izabella Effenberg studied Jazz Mallets at the University of music Nuremberg with Bill Molenhof, Roland Neffe and others. She moved to Germany to further her artistic development after completing her classical percussion studies. In 2012, she received her diploma and in 2014, her Master’s degree. Izabella is the only female Jazz vibraphonist in Europe, and also the first Polish woman to do so. She was awarded numerous scholarships during her studies in Germany and Poland. She has played with many well-known musicians, including Tony Lakatos and Leszek Zadlo as well as Nippy Noya and Steffen Schorn. She was a Vibraphon soloist, Bandleader and also began to arrange and write her own music. Her debut CD, “Cuentame”, was recorded at Bayrischer Rundfunk, and supported by the cultural department in Nuremberg. She is joined by top-class musicians from Germany and Efrat Alony, an internationally renowned singer from Israel. In order to make her instrument more accessible to the wider public, she also founded an annual Vibraphon festival at Nurnberg/Furth.
