Born March 4, 1982 Instruments: Guitar. When Jacob Deaton, an Atlanta jazz guitarist, plays his guitar, it transforms into a mode for transportation. Chartered by improvisation and jazz, Deaton takes listeners on a musical adventure through blues canons and piercing melodies as well as modern conceptualization. Jacob’s music can be described as traditional swing with modern harmonic concepts, but that would only scratch the surface. Jacob’s music has a strong melodic base that is both adventurous and engaging. Jacob is always looking for new ideas with each chorus. He also looks to the past for inspiration. His recent performance credits include a performance at the Atlanta Jazz Festival in 2010. His latest album, “Tribulation”, will be released in the late summer of 2011.
