Jacopo Ferrazza

Jacopo Ferrazza was conceived in Frascati in 1989, near Rome. Jacopo is a pianist and acoustic bass player. From the Frosinone Licinio Refice, he graduated in classical piano and classical bass. He studied bass with John Patitucci and Marco Panascia. He also studied classical piano with Annalaura Cacuoto, Pablo Tellez, and Carlo Negroni. Jacopo began playing jazz in Rome in 2003. He has been a sideman for many of the most acclaimed musicians, including: George Garzone and Fabrizio Pieranunzi; Fabrizio Bianchi, Fabrizio Pieranunzi; Fabrizio Babini; Maurizio Giammarco and Fabrizio Piovani; Maurizio Guadamonte, Ada Montellanico and Salatore Bonafede. He has also performed with pop artists such as Erminio Sinni and Simona Bencini as well as Eric Daniel, Vittorio Novenzi, Eric Daniel and Giuseppe Cionfoli. He was named one of the top young musicians in Lazio in 2006 and won a scholarship to the “Musicorienta” project. He was named the best European young bass player in the Eurobassday contest 2007. He was awarded the Jimmy Woode award in 2011 for being the best Tuscia Jazz Festival bass player. He was named as one the three best Italian talent by Musica Jazz. In 2018, he received the SIAE prize for the best italian jazz talent. Jacopo has been a part of some of the most important festivals and clubs in Italy, including New York, Washington, North Carolina and Illinois. He has also performed at clubs and festivals in New York, Germany and South Corea. In 2018, he was awarded the Musica Jazz “Top Jazz in 2018” prize. Jacopo is a leader on CAM’s jazz label.
