James Cammack

Born 15 April 1956, he is an African American bassist. He was born in Cornwall, NY. He is the bassist of the Ahmad Jamal Trio which includes Ahmad Jamal, the founder, and Idris Muhammad, the drummer. Cammack tours and records with the trio. With the addition of Manolo Badrena, percussionist, Jamal formed a quartet. On the 2010 recording of “A Quiet Time”, Kenny Washington, a drummer, was added. Cammack was a former member of the United States Military Academy Band, where he served as a bugler and bassist with the Jazz Knights. From discogs
