This short-lived all-star group toured during part of 1991, and showcased in an intelligent and coherent fashion some of the top “Young Lions” of the era: trumpeters Roy Hargrove and Marlon Jordan, altoist Antonio Hart, Tim Warfield on tenor, guitarist Mark Whitfield, pianist Benny Green, bassist Christian McBride, and drummer Carl Allen. They recorded one fine album for Novus before the future bandleaders all went their separate ways. from allmusic
