It is common for artists to inspire artistry. A book can inspire a film, poem, song, myth, or dance. Painting inspiring music is one of the rarer events. Even rarer is the idea of profound artistry creating profound art. In the case of composer/percussionist Jeff Guthery’s masterpiece Black Paintings, both of these rarities have been powerfully achieved. Inspired by a series of intense and mystic paintings by the immortal 18th-19th century Spanish artist Francisco Goya y Lucientes, from www.crossovermedia.net
