Rick Kogan of The Chicago Tribune described Joanie Pallatto as “a stirring voice” and a graduate of The University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music. Before moving to Chicago in 1979, Pallatto was a featured singer with The Glenn Miller Orchestra. Pallatto is a co-owner and partner of Bradley Parker-Sparrow, pianist/composer, at Sparrow Sound Design Recording Studio, and Southport Records. She has extensive knowledge in all aspects musical production. She has been a voiceover and studio singer on numerous TV and radio commercials. Pallatto is a jazz singer and has performed at the Chicago clubs Andy’s, The Green Mill, and City Winery. She also sang at New York’s Iridium and Pangea. Chicago Jazz Festival, Chicago Cultural Center and The Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago, Park West, Stage 773, Bailiwick Theater were some of her concert engagements. She was also a soloist in “Ellington Among Friends” at Symphony Center 1999. Awards include the Chicago Music Awards (2021) Lifetime Achievement Award for Extraordinary Contributions to Music Industry; The Coleman Award in Music Business Entrepreneurship at Elmhurst College (2018); and Joanie Pallatto’s Jazz Journalist Association Chicago Jazz Heroes Award.
