Jochen Rückert (rueckert)

Jochen Rueckert was a German citizen who was born in Duren, Germany, in 1975. At six years old, he began to play drums. He studied at the Conservatory for Music, Cologne from 1993 to 1995. After graduating, he moved to Brooklyn, N.Y. While still living in Brooklyn, he recorded Introduction, his debut album. Hayden Chisholm and Ben Monder, Kurt Rosenwinkel and Chris Potter were among the band members. In 2000 Rueckert received the award for musical achievement from North-Rhine-Westphalia. He has recorded more than 80 albums and toured Europe and North America, Asia, Australia, and South America. Rueckert has collaborated with musicians such as the Marc Copland Trio and Nils Wogram’s Root 70. He also worked with the Kurt Rosenwinkel Group, Mark Turner Band, and the Kurt Rosenwinkel Band. Rueckert is a jazz musician and has also played in rock bands like Seems So Bright, Bonny Lundy, etc. He is also involved in electronic music and works with Jochen Bohnes (Marcus Schmickler) and Burnt Friedman (Burnt Friedman). Under the pseudonym Wolff Parkinson White, he programs, mixes and produces electronic music.
