Joe Gordon

American jazz trumpeter. Born May 15, 1928 in Boston. Died : November 04, 1963 in Santa Monica, California. Joe Gordon was a professional trumpet player who played with the following: Georgie Auld (professional trumpet player since 1947), Charlie Mariano, Lionel Hampton and Charlie Parker (1953-’55 periodically), Art Blakey (1954), Don Redman), Dizzy Gillespie (1956 tour), Don Redman), Horace Silver (1954 tour), Don Redman), Horace Silver (1954), Barney Kessel. Benny Carter. Shelly Manne (1958-60), Dexter Gordon. He released two albums under his own name: “Introducing Joe Gordon” (1955), and “Lookin’ Good! (1961). He was tragically killed in a house fire.
