Joe Rosenberg is originally from Boston Massachusetts. He studied with Joe Viola, the renowned classical soprano and saxophonist, as well as Buddy Collette, the late clarinetist, and Woodwind Master Buddy Collette. Joe was awarded a Jazz Performance Fellowship by the National Endowment for the Arts. He was a member the “Los Angeles Jazz Workshop”, the quartet “Inside Out” as well as the big band “Los Angeles Jazz Workshop”. He has also performed across the U.S. and Japan. He is also the leader of “Affinity”, the quartet, and the “Joe Rosenberg Group.” Joe has performed with international artists like Junko Inishi and Buddy Collette as well as Dewey Redman and Gary Foster. His band, “Affinity”, has performed at Yoshi’s Nitespot, San Francisco’s top jazz club. Gary Foster, a renowned studio musician from Los Angeles, is a well-known improviser and says that Foster has “one of the most beautiful soprano sounds I’ve ever heard.” Phil Elwood, the San Francisco Examiner, wrote, “He plays very well. With rich tone, admirable technique, and considerable imagination.” Joe is a leader of his band “Affinity”, which has four international recordings.
