John Minnock

John Minnock is a new-breed singer who fuses diversity with modern interpretations into his shows. He was first popular in Boston and is now a regular in New York City’s jazz and cabaret scene. The Hot House Jazz 2016 Fans’ Decision Metropolitan Room Award was presented to him. John just released “Right Around the Corner”, his second major album. It is available at iTunes, Amazon and Spotify as well as CDBaby. The album features impressive new music including three original compositions and innovative renditions of jazz and cabaret classics. A stellar rhythm section supports him, as well as Dave Liebman (National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Masters and Grammy-nominee). This “gay-ahead” jazz album is groundbreaking in that it examines LGBTQ subjects in jazz. Minnock has performed at some of the most prestigious cabaret clubs in New York including the Metropolitan Room, Triad Theater, Don’t Tell Mama and, most recently, at Feinstein’s 54 Below with Dave Liebman. John Minnock is a classically trained musician whose vocals recall the voices of Lou Rawls and George Benson. King. King often improvises in jazz and sings scat. He brings a wealth of music history to every performance. He has performed at The Metropolitan Room and the Triad Theater. His vast repertoire includes classics like King, Ruth Brown, and Bill Withers, as well as contemporary artists such Sara Bareilles and Amy Winehouse.
